Comments: I was up at stirling lodge last july . what a great time we had fishing ;and everything that goes with it. I am not a stranger too the lodge.been coming since 1978 with the rubber check gang. I am coming back this summer with my nephew GOOD FISHING CARPMAN
Comments: visited for the 2nd year and as before,the food,service and lakeside room was great,as was our dockside room last year. weather was good 2 days,rest of the week was windy(could blow you across the lake) and raining. being a diehard and in this fishing paradise!( I only fish in new jersey)i was going to make the best of it, I rented my own bassboat(worked great),and rainsuit on,wind blown rain stinging my eyes,(lol) i managed to find some of the many coves and bends to ease the weather,and caught many fish each day,while others missed the fun. unfortunately, I found a somewhat invisible rock! and embarrassed, engine putting slowly with 1/3 of a prop,i met Dudley,(pouring rain)@ the dock.,smiling! he just said,oh I see you found a rock,in 10 mins Dudley had me back in business and with his friendly demeanor had made a bad situation good. under those conditions! i realized why so many others have come back to stirling lodge for so many years. not only a fishing paradise! but everyone there adds to this great experience. 6/2013 hope to come this year! thanks s.d.
Comments: I and three others just returned from another fabulous five days at Stirling Lodge on Newboro Lake. The weather was gorgeous (One night and early morning rain, daytime temps in the high 60s to low 70s and low humidity). As usual the staff was terrific. Dropped my room key between the boards on the dock into the water and Ian(?) got a hammer and crowbar and retrieved it for me. Then replaced the board in about 5 minutes all told. The wait staff and kitchen staff accommodated our special request for items we use for our own island fish fry and were attentive at meal time also. Clean rooms, good food and this year they've added Wi-Fi in some areas including the lodge. The fishing was outstanding with large mouth and pike in 15-20 feet of water near the weed beds and small mouth in 25-30 feet of water, also near or in the weed beds. We used minnows all the time. Fish were in the 1.5 to 3.5 lb range if the digital scale is accurate. Have already made our plans for next year and locked things in with Sally.
Comments: I just returned home after a week at the lodge with my fishing buddy Tony and cannot say enough wonderful things about the lodge. The cabin was perfect, the food was fantastic, the fishing was incredible and most of all the staff at the lodge treated us like family. While driving home to Pennsylvania we already started planning next years vacation at Stirling. I just decided I cannot wait until next year and plan to call Sally this week to make arrangements to return next month. I only wish I discovered this wonderful place years ago. Simply the best.
